One of the best Thai places in the city. What do I say - what to try and what not? I've tried all veg (eggs inclusive) friendly options over multiple visits (slightly expensive but worth for the taste!). The service is pretty quick too once you're seated. I recommend making a reservation before hand, otherwise the wait can be crazy wrong. The ambiance is good too, just that the seats are too close by. Must try when in NY!

Ordered: Lycheetini (~$16): Lychee and Pineapple infused Absolute Citron Vodka Lychee Thai Tea (~$6) Scallop Skewers (~$16): sear marinated Scallops in skewers with herbs and Thai sweet chili sauce glaze Curry Puffs (~$12): Minced Chicken, Potatoes and Onions cooked with Curry Powder served with Sweet Cucumber Relish Royal Pad Thai (~$28): Prawns, Shallots, Beansprouts, Chive Leaves, Peanuts, and Dried Shrimp wrapped in Egg Net Short Ribs Chu Chee (~$34): Braised Beef Short Ribs, String bean, Kaffir lime leaves with Special house made Chili paste and Coconut milk Chicken Thai Fried Rice (~$19): with Chinese Broccoli, Onion, Scallions, Tomatoes, Fried Egg mixed with Rice Aya's take: Between seeing that Thai Villa has over 5000 reviews and that I made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance, I knew this was a popular dinner choice and was excited to give it a try. The decor is nicely done and the ambiance is upscale with a traditional Thai feel. It's also quite loud in here and luckily, we were seated in this little nook area on top of the staircase. It's a great table to detach from the crowds of people downstairs and definitely feels a bit more private. The menu is quite extensive and offers pretty unique and elevated Thai dishes. The Scallop Skewers were super tender and delicate; the sweet chili glaze was also delicious! The Curry Puffs were good but nothing special; a great starter to share as it comes with 4 pieces. The Royal Pad Thai was superb!! Starting with the egg net, like where else have you seen them do this!? The portion of noodles and shrimp was pretty solid and it was packed with flavor. It was as if you took a traditional pad thai and pad see ew and merged the flavors into this. It's super fragrant and satisfying. A must order, for sure. The Short Ribs Chu Chee was super buttery and tender; you didn't even need to put any force on the fork for the pieces to cut apart. It went well with the Chicken Thai Fried Rice which was super comforting, satisfying, and well-made. Both the Lycheetini and Lychee Thai Tea were great tries. You can probably tell I love me so lychee. The Lychee Thai Tea was much lighter and is a non-alcoholic option for those who don't drink. One of the best Thai spots in NYC; highly recommend giving it a try!

Food: overall, the food was pretty good. I came with my niece and nephew, who couldn't really have a lot of spicy food so we didn't get to try a lot of spicer options. My favorite item was the soft shelled crabs. Presentation of dishes was pretty and everything was cooked well. Service: our waiter was very attentive and checked up on us the perfect amount of time throughout the night. I knock a star off because we made a reservation but had to wait 20 minutes to be seated and that was only after checking in to ask about the wait. Ambiance: beautiful decor. No complaints there.

Inside Thai Villa is so magical. It has a lot of gold accents and luxurious feel to it. It's a busy place, which shows how good the food is. The service crew were all so welcoming and nice; laughing and joking with each other and the patrons. Once we were seated, our waitress came by to confirm our water choices and give us menus. From sitting down, to taking our order and getting our food, all took 15 minutes. We ordered the veggie spring roll and steamed dumpling. The rolls were good, basic and the steamed dumpling was really tasty. I did think I would taste more crab in it but didn't. For our main my sister ordered the Thai basil shrimp and I had to the short ribs panang. The shrimp was tasty and spicy, my sister loved it. The star of the show was the ribs. Its cooked in the panang sauce which is spicy and creamy. The ribs were cooked perfectly; so tender. Each dish came with a side of white rice. We didn't have room for dessert but nice time will have to try some out. Love Thai Villa!!
